Pixel matrix repos?
« on: July 01, 2019, 03:27:23 PM »
The only sequencing I do is for a pixel matrix I put out. Somehow I didn't realize that there was a community Google drive, that is really awesome.

I know matrices are very different from each other, but is there a repo somewhere where there might be animations for them?

In xlights everything is a matrix.  Even a straight line is just treated as a on column or 1 row matrix.  A tree is a matrix that has been pinched at the top.  Try any tree effect on a matrix and it should render just fine.  I have done a lot of mapping of effects between different props with no problems.  There is no specific matrix shared site that I am aware of.

If you mean the types of animations like in Logan's Star Wars Funk sequence, then no there isn't a handy repository (that I know of). Quite a few of the Tree animations you might have seen have been done by various vendors and therefore aren't available for free. eg  http://www.holidaysequences.com/Holidaysequences-com-E1-31-16-Ribbon-Sequences-s/133.htm

You can search Google for animated gifs (get low resolution ones) or make your own using a program such as https://www.piskelapp.com/

here's 2 videos on the xlights site on how to use Piskel

If you ever find a good repo, let us know   :)
I know just enough to be dangerous :0

Well, I guess I just was thinking how the matrices are so narrow in height, they are a little unique. I'll poke around some of those things and maybe I can get the couple I have up that are mostly gifs for others.

Thanks guys.
