I'm a xlight newbie and am working on my first full sequence in it.  I have searched on the forums and videos for an answer to my question but I can figure it out.  I am trying to set up model for my snowflake wall.
Description of the Snowflake wall: The snowflakes are just simple led snowflakes, one color white.  They are laid out in a 3x4 grid for a total of 12 snowflakes.  In each row the middle star is halfway down from the two on either side of it so the grid is a chevron pattern.  These will run on one of the old LOR controllers while my more complicated stuff if network addresses.

What I was wondering is there a way to make custom model of the wall so that I can use some of the movement effects on the snowflakes as a group?

I have tried and the lay out is easy enough and the "wiring" looks right.  But I can't figure out what bulb type to put in to make it work correctly and then have the right addressing.  It would also be cool if the points on the model looked like snowflakes for the simulation but I would be happy just getting the model as a whole to work.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer and I really appreciate any help you can give

Do you have a photo or sketch of this?  I think I have an idea of what you mean, but would like to confirm before trying to explain how you might be able to do that.

Basically looks like this. With the Xs standing in as the snowflakes. And to be clear, these are older one color led models. No rugby capabilities

Thanks

You could use the "Create new Image" model in Layout and insert a picture of your snowflake then copy paste 11 times. String Type = Single Colour
Then make a Group of all 12

Or you could use the attached model I just made (it's a bit rough, use it as a guide, you will want to make it reasonable size in layout to see it properly, you may also want to add spaces between Xs)

You can turn all on at model, or it has 3 vertical sub-buffers for turning on all stars in each of the 3 columns or you can expand X1 submodel to see each of the 12 nodes (snowflakes) to turn each one on separately as required.
I know just enough to be dangerous :0

Thanks so much. The model worked great. I really appreciate the help, your time and willingness to help.  I learned a lot from how you set it up. Thanks again
