Morph Effect Seems to Not Animate/Render Correctly
« on: August 25, 2019, 08:15:42 PM »
Although it seems to happen only on my minitrees models (individually, though, not as a group), the Morph Effect isn't animating correctly.

I've attached logs, a video, and some screenshots demonstrating what the nodes are doing (although it's with different colors which makes it clearer).

I'm on a Mac and using version 2019.43.

The video is short, but you can see the four pixels at the top-left turn off just like the actual model does.  I added the screenshots including the nodes to highlight what the video demonstrates.

So far, no change in the settings has changed this behavior.  I can stretch the buffer and get them all to light up, but that's a workaround and not a solution.

Here's a new video showing xLights better.  In the video, I also change it to a sweep down which really shows what xLights is doing to the effect on the minitree models.

I created a sequence showing the issue and attached it.

I'm currently on 2019.44 Mac.

Thanks!

I used the show folder you provided and the sequence and I'm not seeing any missing pixels like in the video.

Hmmm...that's interesting (and frustrating).

I've got xLights installed on three different Macs (an iMac at home, an iMac at work, and my Macbook Pro) and the problem exists on all three.  The only way I can work around it is by stretching the buffer.  Granted, that successfully works around it, but it's not really a solution.

I can log in to Windows on my Macbook and it works fine--it'll even playback on the actual prop just fine.

It thus appears to be a Mac rendering issue.  :-\

Yeah ... works fine on windows. You may need to ask Dan to look at it or try playing with Settings/Open GL Render order. They were put there by Dan to address some screen rendering issues.
