Sequence Element Mismatch
« on: September 29, 2019, 05:34:40 PM »
Hello everyone.  Thanks for all you do.  I rarely post but read quite a bit.  Searched the forum but couldn't find my issue so I think it might be a bug.  Last year my sequence used Xlights without issue.  However, when I updated and tried to load my sequence this year it tell me that there is a sequence element mismatch.  The only thing I changed was updating the software.  No matter what option I choose it wipes out all of my elements and the entire sequence.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

Sounds like your show folder is not set correctly so when you open the sequence it doesn't find any of your models.

This is pretty cut and dry.  The model names in the sequence are not matching the model names in your layout for the current show folder.  No way I can know how you got to that point but just upgrading software doesn't make that kind of change.  A file had to have been corrupted or something.  Just open xLights and without opening a sequence look at the Layout tab.....does it have all your model names listed?

Thanks for the help.  I noticed that the files were on one drive instead of the local machine so I copied and pasted that folder to the local machine.  It did not change anything.  Yes I can see the elements from the layout tab and they appear to be correctly configured.  But when I load any sequence I get the error.  Looks like I may have to rebuild it from scratch.

Rebuilding from scratch is silly. Jump into Zoom and someone there will sort you out.

If you want help here you'd need to open xLights and do a Tools -> Package Log Files and provide that zip file.  That will give us your show folder files.  Then also attach the sequence XML file you are trying to open.

That sequence has one model with effects on it whole house. Your show does not have anything called whole house. You should import rather than open that sequence so you can map the effects.

Yeah so that sequence you're trying to open has the model "Whole Home".  You do not have any model or model group with that name in your layout.  So the error message is correct.   Like I said when you see that error message its pretty cut and dry.  Trust it.
