XSchedule does not play my sequence correctly
« on: October 08, 2019, 09:36:42 PM »
Hello All,
I'm new to Xlights and this will be my first year. I'm moving over from HLS and have imported my sequences. I got out one of my controllers tonight, that controls a matrix that is 72 pixels wide 22 pixels high. Now my sequence might be larger than most, as I have a pretty complex setup and lots of RGB lights. The sequence I'm testing first is 108Mb in size.

When I load it into the XLights sequencer and have it output to lights, it controlled my one controller (and matrix) just fine. But I wanted to learn how the scheduler works, so I booted that up, create a playlist of that same one sequence and scheduled it to play.  The Scheduler looked terrible. Lights blinking out of sync...it looked like it was trying to play the sequence, but kept turning the lights off too soon.

What am I doing wrong? Now I can say that my full setup was listed, and I have like 13 controllers, but for this test only one was turned on, so the others were showing as red. Perhaps that has something to do with it. I'm hoping someone can help me get this setup correctly.

Was you show folder set correctly?  What colour is it displayed in.

Funny you should ask.  In my attempts to troubleshoot the problem I later ended up setting the show folder, but I had no idea why that would be needed.  Anyway, I just tried it again just now, and it's playing the sequence fine. May I ask what you thought the problem was? Why would the Scheduler need to know the "show folder"?

Because the show folder contains the networks file which tells xschedule how to send the data to your controllers.

I seem to have a problem with a few sequences not playing properly through the scheduler certain timings are not playing at all. I only noticed because I went out to watch them play and saw the missing parts.
I can run each sequence individually through xlights sequencer with no problem. I double checked to be sure the show folder is listed correctly in the sequencer and it is we are running ver 58.
I know its me but any help is appreciated nobody notices the songs are missing anything but its puzzeling.

Happy Holidays

Dennis

Render and save. Or check time stamp on fseq is right.

I did render and save 3-4 times on the few with issues and same issue continues  they all work perfectly through the sequencer just when running them in the scheduler. I will also upgrade to a later version in am.
Once things end tonight I'll look at the time stamp. I am game for anything except sitting down in the garage and running them individually

Thanks for the help
Happy Holidays

We upgraded to a newer version but also started using a different laptop that I just had replaced for work
and things are running good. Pretty sure it was just upgrading to the newer version.
