grid disappeared
« on: October 22, 2019, 12:15:01 AM »
Please help....lol

Sequencing along nicely then I "maximized" the model preview to better see what I had accomplished.  Since then my sequencing, or effects grid has completely disappeared and I can't find it or figure out what happened.  I've tried resetting all the windows to default, removing all the windows to see if maybe it was hiding under them, closed xlights and restarted, and even updating to the newest version but so far nothing has worked.  I feel like it's something simple I'm overlooking so if someone could have a laugh and point me in the right direction I'd be grateful :D

I usually do a "Dock All" command as well after a "Reset To Defaults".  If you can't get it I think we need to see a screenshot otherwise hard to guess at what you're seeing.

True that.  Screenshot attached.....

I tried the "dock all" and didn't seem to have any results

Maybe do a Tools -> Package Sequence, post the zip file and let someone here take a look.
If you start xLights from a command prompt with the /w option it resets to defaults.  (Backup your show folder first and you might need to repoint to the show folder after).
Hit the X on all those panels and see if anything is under there.  The grid should not be able to be moved it just sizes itself around the panels.

In the future it would be good to save yourself a Perspective when you get the panels arranged how you like so you can always recall that perspective when things get messed up.  You could even try deleting the Perspectives section from the xlights_rgbeffects.xml and start xLights it will recreate it.

ok sorry, just now got back to it.   I tried running from the command prompt and it comes back with an error claiming that it's not an acceptable command.   I did the package sequence option like you suggested and have attached the file.  If someone could take a look I'm really confused.  I feel like it's gonna be something simple but at this point I just don't know.......
