Trouble installing lights 2019.63
« on: November 19, 2019, 07:22:38 PM »
Hey guys just trying to install lights 2019.63 onto my show computer, and I get this error message when I try to run the scheduler:

The procedure entry pointAcquireSRWLockExclusive could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

I'm running windows XP.

I don’t know the last version that ran on xp but I doubt anything recent does.

Do I have to have the latest version of scheduler or could I use an older version that might be compatible with xp even though the sequences have been created by a new version of lights?

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the help by the way!

Rob

The only way you will know is to try it.  We have no idea what is compatible with XP.  Sell that new jet ski you bought and buy a new PC. :)

XP? spend the $35 bucks and get a Pi.  I've been running on the Pi because I'm too thick to get scheduler to work right...

You know the scary thing is we did just buy a jet ski last summer!

Got it working on XP, just updated a few steps at a time rather than the big leap I made to begin with and now it all works!  Couldn't stand the thought of giving up my old trusty XP machine.

One question, does it mean anything in schedule when the text at the bottom of the main page indicating the address of the show folder is in yellow?  It all seems to work, just wondered if that is anything significant.

Thanks,

Rob

Not sure on the Show folder colors Keith would know.  I just opened it up and mine was Orange.
