Hospital Stay
« on: November 20, 2019, 03:59:11 PM »
Well Just got home from the hospital after falling from the ladder Saturday Nov. 16th.  Broke 7 ribs putting up the lights... Ambulance and Fire truck showed up. It is amazing how many people, some I do not even know, have come forward offering to help with getting the lights up.  Fellow deputies, fire department and EMS have all stepped forward.  SO, There will be a show. may be a little late, just have to continue to heal enough to direct it.  In the picture you can see the ladder bent.  I was on the second step.  Have no clue why it would bend.  I was not reaching out to the side or doing anything to cause it to bend.  I am totally shocked the amount of damage that can be done to the body for such a short fall.  Everyone be safe out there and enjoy your show.

Wow all that from the 2nd step up.  Well heal up dude.  Nice to hear people stepping up to help out.

I actually bought a new 16' extension ladder this Saturday because I was getting a little nervous on my old one.  It was a piece of junk aluminum one that I figured out was probably only rated for 225 and I'm 275 right now.  I got one of those blue Werner ladders rated for 250 and it feels rock solid.
