First years show. Need lighting help
« on: November 29, 2019, 11:54:08 PM »
I have installed ws2812b led strips on my house last year just as main night lighting. Well now I have got hooked on watching these wonderful christmas lighting shows. I want to give it a try. I have designed some sequences in xlights with what I have installed on the house already. However i notice all the shows i really like all use spotlight/floodlights. I am using Xlights to E1.31 protocol. The area each flood will be.. well, lighting... is not really large, so I was thinking maybe 5 watt, or 10 watt.

What kind of floods can you use with E1.31? Does it need to have a network connection,  a built in controller, or something totally different?

What would be the most economical floodlight to use? I am thinking I will need 3-4 of them.

Thanks everyone.

If you get ws2811 floods then they are just pixels with more power. Dumb floods will require a special dmx controller.

Ideally those are the types.of floods I would like to go with. But I have not been able to find any ws2812b floods. Is everyone just building their own, or who sells them?
