SIngle Color Intensity question
« on: December 02, 2019, 09:05:35 AM »
I am trying to use the single color intensity on my older AC single color strands.  I am using the current version 2019.67 and when I try to set the color for the model (i.e.net lighting that is a single color), I cannot set the color of the strand.

Is this normal?  Should I be using the single color setting instead?

Any help would be appreciated.

You can use the "AC Lights Toolbar" (drop down under 'View').

It is difficult to be sure exactly what you are doing but there are limitations in xlights and what some people call super strings. Multiple colours of ac props joined together. Basically you can set the colour at the model level but only one colour per prop unless it is rgbw or wrgb. Most folks drop multiple models one for each colour and map it or go real old school and use a channel block which does allow you to set colour of each channel but does not display as the prop.

Thank you so far for the responses.
These are actually single color AC strings so my question is about setting the color.
I thought I could set the single intensity string to the specific color of the strand, I.E. Green, Red, White, Blue, etc.
In the Xlights tool it would not let me set the color so that is why I am asking.  Should I just use single color or single color intensity?

Thank you,

Mike

I use single color for my AC lights.  I have never used single color intensity so I do not know what the difference is. I have no issue setting the color to what ever I want.

If you use single colour intensity then your lights will react to every colour. If you set them to blue then they will only react to the amount of blue the effect is trying to put on the model.
