Arches not working properly
« on: December 07, 2019, 10:20:29 AM »
I started my show last week and most things were ok.  My arches have been giving me grief since before day 1.  The ribbons I was using weren’t reliable ( probably my soldering). All 4 would work, then some would flash and glitch randomly. So I took them out and got new strips from holidaycoro.  My original strips were 25 nodes, the new ones are 40. I updated xlights, rendered everything and now arch 1 and 2 are ok, 3 only lights up correct in the first half then the other half of 3 and all of 4 are just solid blue. They are all running daisy chained on the same port and the universe is big enough for all of them. I’ve moved them around and same results. Any ideas??thanks.

You have a bad node that needs to be cut out.  Remove BOTH the last working node and the first bad node.

Before you cut anything I would verify configuration ... 99% of the time it is a software config issue. If you are stuck jump into the zoom room and the guys there will give your config a 2nd set of eyes.

i pulled them an tested individually and they all worked fine.  so i connected 2 and they were good, when i connected a third is when it messed up.  so for now, i split them across different ports.  as long as it works this season, i will deal with it in 2020
