I am trying to figure out how to move a whole house shader effect on the x axis so it is more centered on my display. my display is not even and it would be nice to move it offset a little

What I do is place a dummy model and keep tweaking it's position until effects like Fan are centered where you want them then add it to the whole house group.

Or play with the buffer ... you can oversize it left or right to adjust how it centres. This is ok for one or two effects. Not so great if you do lots of them. Gils idea works much better then.
