converting/Opening Sequence
« on: December 15, 2019, 03:43:25 PM »
I have an issue I dont know if it is a bug or something I am doing wrong

I have a LOR sequence..  I create a new sequnece in Xlights.  Pick the Audio and import the LOR sequence timings.  I render it, Play it..works great.. and save it.   If I close the sequence or try to open it later it crashes XLights.

What could be causing this..  I have tried with 3 different LOR sequences

If we knew why it would be fixed already.

Try without the audio - perahps something in the mp3? Perhaps package the sequence (tools menu) then save, exit and load. If it crashes send in the package sequence to see if its something that can be duplicated on other hardware.

Once a sequence is saved it doesn't have any ties to LOR so all we need is just save the sequence and then do a Package Sequence.  Also not sure what you are doing.  You only said you import the timings so no effects?  Did you bring in a data layer?  Are you using Import Effects?  We can't guess you gotta give details to your steps.

Sorry.. Correction..

I import effect.. or what ever is turning on off the lights.  But I dont see any of them on the screen
but when I play it shows the lights on and off as they came in ok.

How/where do I send the sequence?

So I tried something different which worked.

First The Steps that caused the Error
Create new Sequence
select  musical sequence
select audio
select  fps
select More Options..
Import Data  LOR  and select Sequence
This Works.. render and Plays the sequence and models shows lights go on and off. but effects dont  show in the View window
Save Sequence   Close
When I reopen it crashes

Tried a new way.
New Sequence
Pick Audio   and FPS then Done
Then go to the Import menu  Item and Import LOR Sequnece.
Render Saves and plays fine  and I see the effects in view window
opens and works

So the first way is importing a data layer.  That function probably hasn't been tested lately so it could have been affected by changes.

At a minimum we need to see logs ... ideally a packaged sequence after you save it.
