fseq files
« on: December 19, 2019, 01:45:29 AM »
Anybody know how fseq files are created?  I have some new sequences that I have created, but I don't see the fseq files for them.  I wanted to add them to my show, in xschedule but I don't see them.  Please help!

Whenever I save a new sequence as "save as", it only shows .xml files that I can save as.  I don't know if that how it works. None of the sequences I did this year, from Nov., shows an fseq file.  Is it an issue with the software?

xLights has to files that it will save for each sequence, the XML and the FSEQ.  The xml is what xlights reads to show the layout, models, and effect settings for everything.  That file is used to create the FSEQ file, which is what makes the lights turn on and off in a format the controllers understand.  When you are saving the file in xlights, you will only see the XML option for opening and saving because that is what the program uses.  By default, it will save the FSEQ file in the same directory as the XML when you save the XML.  If you turned off the save FSEQ option (as Gil said earlier), or changed the directory for the location of the FSEQ, you are going to need to change that back or manually find the location.

Check the other folders button (or whatever it is called) on the setup tab to see if you asked xlights to store them somewhere other than the show folder.
