pixel types

I was looking at Ray's store and noted a resistor type pixel. I had not seen a reference to that type. Question are all pixels that type or is that a different line or type? Mildy confused  Charlie J.

It's an older design pixel that uses a resistor to drop the voltage instead of a regulator.
Usually less expensive but they have problems like they're sensitive to slight over-voltage meaning anything over 11.8 volts
