Popcorn Techno Version Sequence assist?
« on: January 27, 2020, 09:36:29 PM »
Hey all.

I am new. I am still learning.  I am trying to create a sequence to the eon version of popcorn.

https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/133937

I am struggling with getting the beats/different layers of the song to be created. I have started with just trying to sequence my candy canes.    I am 40 seconds into the song, it has taken me a few hours.   I tried the beats, but it isn't really right.   I am a newbie so I understand there is a learning curve, just seeing if there is a better way.  If not I will keep chugging away.

I am also hoping someone is willing to take me under their wing to collaborate/help/tutor me using this song.
 ;D

I am trying to use sparkylights light o rama as inspiration.

Thanks,

diggy

Depending on exactly what you’re wanting it to look like, that really sounds like a technically-challenging song.

Maybe start a little simpler while you’re learning the nuances of sequencing?

There's no shortcuts a good sequence can take 40 to 80 hours if you have a decent number of models.

What bwinter and Gil said. Great version of Popcorn, but also quite complicated. I'm hearing at least 3 layers during some sections with multiple beats, and at 4 minutes 17 seconds quite a long song.

Yeah, maybe sequence a simpler song or two, then go back to Popcorn as you learn and get better at sequencing?
I know just enough to be dangerous :0
