No Beam on Moving Heads?
« on: February 18, 2020, 07:00:44 PM »
My moving head lights don't have any light(+beam) in the preview, so I have no way of telling if they're working outside of movements.

This preview has been fine in previous versions. Any idea what has caused this/a fix?

You're probably doing something different it still works.

That's not particularly helpful...

I've even tried creating a new DMXMovingHead whilethe beam is set to 4, but there's no light/beam displayed in the preview.
I've loaded previous projects (where I haven't changed anything since updating) that have worked fine, and again... there's no light emitted from the object.

The quality of my reply reflects the quality of the information given.  There are several reasons you might not see a light beam and you need to convince me something is broken because in my testing it looks fine.  You've gotta actually put an effect on it that stimulates the beam for one.  The color Black won't show up.  If you defined a shutter channel then it must be set so that it's open.  I posted a video that showed it working when I did all these changes so I don't know maybe you posting a video of it not working and posting files of how you have it setup and an example sequence might help but I'm happy to sit here and do nothing if you provide nothing.

It's literally the exact same configuration file and the same sequence that I used in older versions of the software and worked fine.
Hence why "you're doing something different" or "You've gotta actually put an effect on it that stimulates the beam" ignore the OP.
The lights still emit the correct colour and beam in the physical output, but just not in the software preview.

I don't know if I can attach files to this forum, and I haven't shared a config file before. Try here?
