Candy Cane
« on: January 13, 2014, 05:26:42 PM »
I have built a candy cane and everything works fine, I want to add 29 more canes to go under my arches, is this possible in the model set up?

can you show me how you built the first one? is it smart rgb or dumb rgb?

if it is smart and you had say 10 nodes in the candy cane you could build  a model as
30 arches of 10 nodes each. all effects would work.

all effects would work but the preview would draw an arch for each candy cane. we plan on adding more models for preview this year.

this will make your preview be perfect. The downside is if you have 30 candy canes you need 30 models.

if you instead did this as display as arches you could make
arches 30x10. now you have just one model that applies to all of your candycanes. what is missing is to do a chase from candycane 1 - 30 with the singlestrand. i will be adding that into the single strand effect this quarter.

Just making sure I follow....meaning a whole cane would light a color then the next and so on?

Thanks,

yep, have a model called candy cane that is "display as" arches. cretae model as 30x10 and you will see a chase go across the first candy cane, then the second .etc.

all effects will work but
butterfly, bars, color wash, fire, spirals, single strand, twinkle will give you some cool effects
