2020.06 and FPP?
« on: February 24, 2020, 04:59:28 PM »
Hey All,

I'm thinking through this upgrade and was wondering about how the new setup tab impacts the FPP which runs my show....  My computer and XL are not connected to the show network in any way....I just use the FPP to run the .fseqs.

Since I'm using uni-cast and I've read some comments that this new setup seems to 'like' multi-cast I'm concerned that I could run into issues and I understand network stuff not much....

So here's the question.

I upgrade to the new version....save a sequence and put its .fseq file on the show FPP.  Do I also need to change all descriptions etc. in my "Channel Outputs" tab in the FPP to look like (match) the new setup tab in XL?

Since I'm not getting a response I'm thinking it was a dumb question.... :-[ ...but I really don't understand how some of the networking between different components works....  ???

The new setup has no impact on fpp unless you move stuff around and even the. It may make no difference.

Thanks for the response Keith.... I don't deal with these setup issues but once in a great while and then only when I have no other choice....  ;D ...so I've forgotten much of how I set things up a few years ago....I've just added universes as I've expanded while keeping my fingers crossed that things would work.... I figured I had been lucky to keep things working and so I have basically taken the "if it ain't broke to try to fix it" approach....

Thanks for the help in clarifying...I do appreciate it...Now I'll go upgrade!  ;D
