Setup changes Questions
« on: March 21, 2020, 07:21:25 PM »
So after taking a few months off I'm back and have now updated to new version. 2020.11

I have watched Keith's videos on the new setup/controller tab.  It has left me with a couple questions hoping someone can help me understand.

1. I have a couple of F16 that I use for a 1200 pixel matrix and one that I used for a 60 pixel combined into 120 pixel zigzag strings x 8 (16 total legs of the tree/string mega tree).  In past years I had half of the strings (100 each) on one side of the board 1-6 and the other half on 9-14 and similar on my tree. I did this to divide and balance the power load. Then on my other ports I added other items in a balance fashion.  How do I handle this with the new controller tab?  If I understand what I saw in the video when I add my matrix to the controller it is going to it from say port one down through 12 and on my tree the same.

2 I have a Bridge (can't remember the source but thing it is San Device) that I use to control the few LOR AC controllers I still use and to drive my DMX 27 channel controllers for my nodes and floods.  What is the best practice to set this up in new version.

In my old set up I had universe "1" set at size of 80 for my LOR universe '"2" set at size of 108 for my DMX nodes and floods and then universe 3 set to started at channel 189 and from that point all following universes were 510 and continued until all channels were covered. One last confounding issue is I still use one San Device pixel controller to control my other mega tree and it is mixed in after my first F16 that controls the matrix, house.  Do I just list it on its own line as well?

3. After my F16s/San Device controllers I have a BBB running a 7x7 P10 - and a 2x3 FPP on a PI controlling my tune to sight.  Do these get there own line in the set up as well.

Sorry lots of questions but want to do it right the first time so when crunch time comes in September when I set up I'm not in a mess.

Thanks in advance

I would assume that I could eliminate  the bridge and run that directly off of my F-16 but I wasn?t thinking outside of the box of my ?current set up.  If so how do I show that in my set up?

Last year to get the upload for my 6 string (4 strands per string ) megatree I set the port for the first string to be 6.  xlights then configured nicely to 6,7,8 and 9,10,11 and let me balance the power like I wanted.

The best way to do this is to split it across 2 halves of the board but keep it contiguous ... so ports 3-14.
If you cant do that see my return of shadow models video for your solution.

Add it as an e131 ... this really does not change. Because we know nothing about this device and its configuration you will need to set up the start channels manually.

Every separate controller should be its own line
