Version 17: FSEQ Files not showing in sequence tab
« on: May 02, 2020, 08:38:48 AM »
I've never seen this before:
If I open a fseq file, the bottom of the page shows the fseq file name etc. but I don't have anything showing: no  timing track, no media track..nothing at all.

If I open the .xml file all good!

using 2020.17 on a MAC

Hello,
Some one correct me if i'm wrong but i believe this is by design.
The FSEQ file is the rendered output of the xml file and as such should only contain the data necessary to turn on and off the channels in the different universes. It would not contain the timing tracks and effects that you can edit.
The XML files show up correctly because they contain the following pre-rendered data; sequence timing, song data, color palettes, timing tracks, and effects. This does allow it to be edited in xlights and then rendered to an  FSEQ file.

Ok, but it always would present both the fseq and the XML in the past.  If this is a new "feature", I must of missed the introduction.

I would need to see the log to see why it is not able to find the XML.

I have to say this is more likely something different on your end that ours as to the best of my knowledge no work was done on that code.

does the fseq and xml need to be in the same folder? they aren't ! I did a quick check and YES the FSEQ and XML need to be in the same folder.  Interesting, and I thought I was cleaning up the file system!

included logs anyway
