trying to copy my models from PC to Mac
« on: December 10, 2014, 10:58:04 PM »
I entered the mac world about one year ago and am still learning how things are set up in a mac world. I have copied my lights_rgbeffects.xml file from the windows 7 machine to my macbook but I am not sure where exactly to put it. It is currently in the same folder as my setup files. When I open xlights, my models are not there. Any macbook folks out there that can help.

Thanks Neil, sometimes I am just too smart for my own good! I checked the location to make sure I was looking in the right spot and I was not. Thanks for your time and assistance. All better now.

Better than my approach...I was using bootcamp and constantly dealing with disk space issues as I only left my bootcamp disk with 20GB of space!!

Soon to be one more.   I plan to join the mac world in Jan 2015.  My W7 PC is really struggling; time for a new one.   My wife went to Mac so I figured I might as well go there with her!

I've enjoyed my macbook thus far. Lightorama has been my one holdback and I think i have proofed to myself that i don't need it anymore. I'm headed to Best Buy tomorrow to purchase a usb wireless adapter for the rasberry pi and I doubt that I will be back to a microsoft product anytime soon.

I prefer MACs, but none of my hardware/software combinations work on OSX. so I had to buy a cheap W8 laptop
