Controller Indicator Light in XLights
« on: July 22, 2020, 08:24:22 PM »
My controller connected indicator light is red instead of green on the controller tab.  I can't figure how to resolve this.  When I select "open" it opens my controller and I have access to it.  But I assume it is not connected (red light) and I can't actually turn my lights on from xlights.  Any ideas?

Try leaving the FPP Proxy ip blank and see what happens. Can't hurt.

Be sure and have the very latest version .29 - you might need to go to xlights.org to grab it.

Here are a few questions that we would need to troubleshoot this.
What is the ip address of the computer that is running Xlights?
I assume that you are running FPP so do you have your controller setup in "Status/Control - Proxy Settings"?
In FPP is the checkbox for "enabled routing between network interfaces" checked under "Status/Control - Network"?

Thanks to you guys for your quick responses.  I'll check into those ideas but first.....
Here is an update.  After I got off work today I fired everything back up and the controller is showing as connected (green light).  I changed nothing other than it starting up from being powered off.  It's these situations that drive me mad trying to diagnose.  I guess I'll do some tests to see if it is truly connected.  Thanks again!
