RGB Effects File Corruption (?) in xLights 2020.35 Mac
« on: September 12, 2020, 12:52:54 PM »
I've had a new problem develop and nothing had changed (to my knowledge) on my Mac.  And it's (literally) a show stopper!

Yesterday evening, everything works.  I come back a few hours later, open xLights, and I'm greeted with the error message "Unable to load RGB effects file ...creating a default one" (screenshot attached).

I press "OK" and then I'm greeted with an empty Layout Tab (screenshot attached).  No house, no props, nothing!

The ONLY way I got it to read my RGB Effects file was uninstalling xLights from my Mac, restarting, and reinstalling xLights.

Then today, a repeat of yesterday.

I've attached logs taken this morning.

I'm on MacOS 10.15.6 (Catalina).  xLights 2020.35 (latest version as of this post).

Thanks for any help!

UPDATE: I have uploaded a backup RGB Effects file that will work if I copy/paste it into my show folder, BUT, xLights will corrupt it.  So...I obviously am keeping it in a safe place.

Wow, Keith, thanks!   1,000,000 thanks!   ;D

I don't know what I did to that file, but you fixed it!!

Any clue on what I did (so I don't do it again)?

I think you upgraded and then downgraded.
