Setting up Identical Serial Outputs on Multiple Controllers
« on: November 16, 2020, 07:28:29 AM »
So we run a large show. And with the new controller based setup we are trying to figure out the last piece of our puzzle. We run our show across 12 house, we currently have 28 Falcon PiCaps, 2 Falcon F48s, and a Falcon F16. These drive about 36K pixels. We also have 28 older Lynx Express boxes running about 300K 110V lights.

We got all of the pixel models moved this year to the new controller based layout. However all of our DMX lights are still on static channels. We use about 80 channels that are then replicated to each yard and outputted via a PICap or a F48.

We can currently use XLights to do all of the setup for the pixels with no problems. Where we run into issues is setting up serial outputs for all of the DMX Models. Is there an easier way to add all of these to our controllers?

When I try to add them to each Controller it messes with my channel counts and removes them from previously assigned controllers. Just pulling my hair out every time we tweak something and have to reupload layouts and then have to manually go back in and add the DMX before I resync sequences to FPP.

So any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Richard
