xSheduler does not work on MAC
« on: November 29, 2020, 08:41:47 AM »
Hi,

My show is not running as I cannot get the xScheduler to work on my machine. When downloading the newest version of xLights, the xScheduler is NOT included. Everything was working just fine in xLights before I found an older version of xScheduler and tried using it. Now I am getting errors with advatek boards that don't make any sense and no boards are showing on xSchedule. I tried to transfer my files to a Windows computer and the xScheduler works fine but I cannot update any files that I transferred. I am new to xLights and wanted to make the switch but now I am frustrated that my show is not working. Can anyone help?????

xschedule is no longer updated or supported on MACs.  It is recommend that you use FPP to run your show although some folks have been able to download an old version of xschedule and make it work.  I do not use a MAC so am no further help.

As jnealand stated, xSchedule is no longer supported on Mac.  Old versions are still working for some peoples setups, but I think it is understandable to expect that overtime there will probably be more and more broken.

It seems like your biggest issue is getting updated sequences to your Windows machine that CAN run xSchedule successfully.  I've seen many people use Google Drive, OneDrive, etc to keep sequences in sync across machines.  I'd imagine you could sequence on your Mac and utilize one of those tools to also be running on your Windows machine.  It would at least make it easy to get the files back and forth, even if it might mean you have to tell xSchedule there were some updates and needs to refresh.

The last OS X build that contained A copy of xschedule that will still work is 2020.15.
