Getting all strings to work on Mega Tree
« on: November 29, 2020, 05:04:05 PM »
Hello, and thank you in advance for your help.

Here is my set up for my mega tree. I have two strings of 100 pixels plugged together for a total of 200 pixels. I have a falcon f16 v3. I have it plugged into my computer via ethernet. I have the sequence in xlights working and my tree will light up however only every other string lights up. So the 1st 100 pixels the it skips 100 pixels and then lights up the next 100 and so on. I have the lights plugged into 14 ports on the F16. If I can help on this it would be appreciated.

My next issue is I can not get the songs to play on the tree from xschedule64. I can add the files and when I tell it to play the song is playing, however it says my F16 inactive.

Thank you for the help

Post your screen shots if you setup in XLights and the Falcon f16 e131page and string port pages

I had this issue last night.  I used 100 pixel strings (so 50 up, then 50 down) and everything looked funky on the actual tree but Xlights showed it perfectly fine.

I have 16 strands (800 pixels total)

In Xlights this is what I had to set:

                    Type:  Round
                Degrees:  180
               Rotation:  3 (don't know why)
           Spiral Wraps:  0
     Bottom/Top Ratio:  6
            Perspective:  2
              # Strings:  16
            Nodes/String:  100
          Strands/String:  2
       Starting Location:  Bottom Right

Bruce

What you described in your first post would be 14 strings of 200.  You did not give enough detail for the strands per string.  If you string just goes one length up or down it would be 1 strand / string if it goes up and down it would be two strands per string

See red above how many pixels do you have?

So should I set mine for 14 for # of strings
200 for nodes per string
2 strands per string ?

Thank you

Yes if you have a strand of 100 up and a strand of 100 down.  After you make the model you can right click on it a select Node Layout and look to see if that is how you have it constructed.

Your xSchedule problem is likely a networking issue. I would jump on zoom and let them sort you out.

Yes, I do.  I guess I didn't really think about the calculation.  I changed it to 50 and it still worked perfectly.  Thanks for catching that for me!

Geo99M6Z

From how i understand your tree you would have

# Strings 8
Nodes per string 100
Strands/ String 2

Yes, 8 strings of 100.

50 up / 50 down, so I have a 180 degree tree with 16 strips of "50"
