Queen Mary Vamp - Plug-Ins not working on Mac
« on: December 13, 2020, 09:59:48 PM »
Hello!

I am a total noob and have been trying to get the Queen Mary Plug-ins to work with no success. I have tried the files in each location in the instructions and currently have them in both, but still don't get the option for these plug-ins when trying to add a timing grid. I am on Mac OS 11.0.1 Big Sur and Xlights Ver 2020.54. I appreciate any help in getting this to work!

Put plugins for all users to use in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Vamp
Put plugins for only the current user in $HOME/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Vamp

Are you on an Intel Mac or one of the new Apple Silicon (M1) Macs?    At this point, the plugins are only compiled for Intel and thus won't work on the M1 if you run xLights in Native mode (default).   You can run it with Rosetta by finding xLights in /Applications, right clicking on it, select "Get Info", and find the checkbox that says run with Rosetta.   I believe that allows them to work, but you will have about 30% slower Render times.

Also, are you installing them individually are are you installing via the plugin pack?   The plugin pack is way easier to deal with.
