30' foot mega tree
« on: December 27, 2020, 10:13:35 AM »
A guy in my city had an impressive display this year including a 30-32' mega tree. I got a closer look at it and the center post seemed to be a single 8" Box truss. I also noticed a whole bunch of CG-1500 boxes on the ground inside the tree -- lots of feeds and power injection going on. It was 180 degrees. There were 60 vertical pixel strips (basic pixel tape) and although every other pixel hole was skipped, the density was enough to pull of some limited video in the show.

I'm wondering.... when it comes to a structure that tall, is that a DYI project or are there kits available?

In my experience it will be a DIY project.  Commercial large trees are very large cost items!   :)
The every other hole strips pretty much gives it away.
