Intensity effect that fades up and down slowly
« on: February 13, 2021, 06:32:32 AM »
First post! Woo HOO!

I'm looking for an effect that is like the ON effect but also fades down slowly. The ON effect seems to snap down at the end of each cycle.

Thanks!

Use the end intensity on the on effect or use an out transition.
If you want it to ramp up and down you can use the in-and-out transition on a single effect or you could back to back ramp up and a ramp down on effect

Thanks! Yeah, so that's what I was afraid of. I have to write an up and down and then copy it 30 times... Then when I have to modify a color or a timing, I have to edit all of those copies? I was hoping there was an easier option...

Bulk edit.

Repeat an up-and-down on effect 30 x is an extremely simple task if you have timing marks.
Once you learn the program you'll realize that the developers have already taken many of these things into consideration and put in Provisions for them.

I'm surprised we haven't changed the On effect so that there is only one Intensity slider with a value curve then you could ramp up and down in a single effect.

If you used one long "on" effect and set the color brightness value curve to sawtooth, then set the number of cycles desired, would that give you what you are looking for. You could also set the beginning and ending brightness sliders to whatever you want.

Use a color wash, 2 colors black and white, set to circular palette, set number of cycles.

You could also use value curves with Sawtooth if all the up/down intensities were the same. Then set the number of cycles.
