Uploading Controller Configuration to FPP
« on: February 15, 2021, 01:30:17 PM »
I would firstly like to say that I am a new member at this forum ad would like to say Hey to everyone.

Secondly, I have been working with xLights for a couple months now and can honestly say that I know just about enough to be dangerous.  :-)

My question concerns the ability to upload controller output configuration from xLights to FPP. The manual shows a
checkbox with the label Auto upload Configuration, and states:

When enabled, xLights will automatically upload the controller configuration when output
to lights is turned on. This only works with FPP based controllers.

However,  the latest version of xLights doesn't have this option, and this option is no longer available in FPP connect. How do you know perform this operation?

When I click FPP Connect I only get the options shown in the Image I have attached, clicking the upload button doesn't upload any controller information.

FPP Connect should be for uploading your sequences I don't believe that's how you upload configs.  Isn't it the "Upload Input" and "Upload Output" buttons you can see in the screenshot...not in the dialog but the screen below it.  I'm not familiar with how to get it going automatically.  If the buttons are greyed out make sure you select an output and also try output to lights in both states.

I thought those buttons were for uploading input output information to the controller, and it was my understanding  that FPP needed output information on the Player which then sends it to the controller. Does anyone know how I can get this thread to one of the developers?

I'm not sure what you are attempting...

The "Auto upload configuration" flags is there for FPP based controller.  The only controller you have defined in your list is an F16v3.  That's not an FPP based controller.

I assume you are just trying to upload the e1.31 output information so the master can send the e1.31 data over to the F16V4.   That would be the UDP Outputs option on the FPP Connect dialog.

Daniel,

Thanks for the reply, I've seen quite a few of your videos, and can imagine you are an extremely busy guy.

Anyway, followed your instructions that did the trick, and I truly appreciate your help.

One last thing, I tried to post at the link saying if I need help post here, showing in the reply. But when I tried to post, was told I didn't have access to that section, not sure if I am supposed too ...

I've never seen what you are talking about.  Do you mean in an email?  I always log into the actual website which works best.

I clicked on the "Post it here" created the post, then clicked the post button.

Also, while I'm here, can FPP utilize  bluetooth to output audio?

I don't know then.  I don't have any admin privs around here.  It appears others are posting in that section.  Maybe try again.

My understanding is that there is a built in delay with bluetooth audio so it might not work well for synchronizing with lights.
