Question about copying/pasting effects from one model to another
« on: December 23, 2014, 06:03:40 PM »
I have started sequencing for next year, adding a 2nd megatree to the setup.   I copied all the effects I sequenced for my 1st megatree and pasted the effects into the cells of the 2nd megatree.  When I watch in preview, there seem to be some "effects remnants" left in some places--the 2nd megatree doesn't "keep on" doing the intended effect for, say, 7 seconds, but does different effects than the 1st megatree in that example 7 second time period.   I just checked the 2nd megatree in the nutcracker side of the program and it is doing just what I intended it to do, so there appears to be a difference between what preview is showing me and nutcracker is showing me.   Any ideas here?   I am not sure what to do with this.

2 things...

first clean out the cells of the target model. I found that copying from one column (model) to the other causes a "merge" to happen where occupied cells replace the destination cell... but open cells at the source to not cause the destination to also be open.

also, remove the existing .xseq file before saving...  ability to merge LOR, LSP and Vixen sequences with LOR relies on taking an existing file and dropping the NC channels into that file.  If you had a .xseq file around with prior work, then your new channels would be merged into that file.

Thanks Steve.   It almost looked as if I had applied "create random effects" to all the empty cells in the 2nd megatree model.  I went row by row comparing the 1st & 2nd megatree, removed the unwanted effects and all is well now!   I appreciate the help!
