First try at this....need some help
« on: September 29, 2021, 07:09:58 PM »
Hello all!  I'm very new to programmable lights.  I've tried searching but can't find what I'm having trouble with...

Fairly simple setup...2 WLED controllers, 1 driving 150 RGB pixels, the other driving 250 RGB pixels.

I've got the controller for the 150 string set with one universe, and the other set with two (starting universe 2, so it uses 2 and 3).

In the layout tab, the "garage" string starts at #2:1, ends at #3:240 and the "roof" string starts at #1:1 and goes to #1:450.

When I use the TEST tool in XLights (and when I send my sequence to them), the first pixel in universe 3 doesn't light.  WLED will make all pixels light/respond to commands/etc, so I know that they are all working.

I'm sure it's something I've messed up in the xlights config.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a mismatch between the xlights setup and the controller setup as to how many channels there are in each universe.  Not sure if you are using 510 or 511 but it needs to match on both sides.

Attached some screen grabs of my xlights setup.  Let me know if more is needed...

Got it sorted.....turns out it wasn't xlights, but WLED that was causing the problem (but only when using E1.31...they were fine in WLED directly).  Updated to the latest WLED firmware, all is good.
