FPP Connect CURL 56: Connection Was Reset
« on: October 31, 2021, 10:42:02 AM »
I have been repeatedly getting this error while uploading larger fseq files from FPP Connect. It happens almost everytime I render and upload a sequence.  To get around this, I have to keep re-uploading from FPP Connect until it works. It is not crashing xlights, just an annoyance. My controllers and network configuration are the same as last year and I didn't have this issue last year.  The one difference is I am running Windows 11 on my Xlights machine.

So I know you are going to need some diagnostic information, My ask is what specifically do you need. I added the log files and I am using xLights 2021.34 on Windows 11

I could not get FPP Connect to work this weekend either.  I think I got a similar error it was either Connection Reset or Connection Refused.  I assumed it was because I had not updated my FPP since my 2019 show so I tried to update the FPP and it said it could not connect to github even though my internet connection was working fine.  I didn't have time to troubleshoot it further so I just manually drag/droppped my files to get my Halloween show running for last night.  Seems like I'm cursing these FPP's every year I need to use them.

Cannot connect to github is a known issue .. you need the script in the script repository (an option in Fpp) to fix the http to https (search for github in the script repo)
[Similar to the time xlights.org stopped being able to do updates since http changed to https]

I found if you just keep retrying over and over again that it eventually would work.  I assume this could be an issue on the FPP side then,  I'll post this issue on the Falcon forum too.

This has nothing to do with github. Please re-read the issue. This is related to the FPP Connect feature
