How to add xlights/nutcracker created to Vixen 3

I've not had time before now, but here we go...

How does one create effects using xlights/nutcracker and then use them inside Vixen 3? 

Is there a tutorial I've missed, or does someone have this down so well you can give a step by step on it?

i think the only way this can be done is to create an effect and then export as a vixen *.vix file.
I do not think Vixen 3 can open the vixen *.vir files (which would have been preferable)

i dont think it works very well. maybe a vixen 3 user can confirm
