Help getting started, Docker support?
« on: November 27, 2021, 06:14:37 PM »
Hi guys, I?m new here.  After some research, I decided to get started with my musical light show rig with xLights as the driver. :-)

Before getting started however, I want get the software setup on my machines. I have it installed on my Windows and Mac machines for developing the sequences.  I want to run the actual sequences on my private server which runs Linux.  I want xLights inside a Docker container and to run it headlessly.  I haven?t found much on Dockerizing xLights and running it without a monitor attached.

Anyone got any helpful information on getting set up and running in a Docker environment?

That aside will the Falcon controllers work with this?

xLights is for sequencing and pretty much requires a full desktop environment.

For running the show, FPP does provide docker containers for x86_64.  That said, getting the audio setup for a docker container can be a bit more difficult, but a little research can usually help figure that out.
