remote falcon is causing output to stutter/freeze
« on: November 30, 2021, 06:41:29 PM »
The output to my lights keeps freezing for about half a second, every three seconds. Seems pretty consistent timing when it's doing it. Pretty sure it's remotefalcon causing it, it starts working ok as soon as I stop remotefalcon. I run my show at 40FPS. Where it says packets/sec, it drops down to 20-30 instead of 40. My entire show is run from DMX. The weird thing is, the problem also only seems to happen a few hours into my show. Any ideas?

Do you have a FPP based controller? So when querying FPP it is actually on the same hardware as your lights?
Do you have a class 10 SD card? perhaps it is too slow?
You can change the query time for Remote Falcon - perhaps make it less often?
(Post this on remote falcon fb page - that is where James will see it)

I guess I should have said I use xSchedule, not FPP. No FPP based controllers. In xSchedule, it says "time to grab next song (seconds)" is this the query time? if so, it is set at 5 seconds and it is very consistently dropping packets every 3 seconds, so that doesn't line up.
