Projectors
« on: January 04, 2015, 09:18:51 AM »
I am looking at projectors that will fit the budget to do video projection on the entire house. Here are a couple that I have looked at.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/optoma-3d-dlp-projector/2378039.p?id=1219072223755&skuId=2378039
Any suggestions on a mid priced projector?
Thanks
Terry

http://www.projectorcentral.com/projectors.cfm?g=1&hide=0&st=1&mfg=&p=&w_m=&r=&br=3000-4000&ll=&ltg=&t=&db=&dt=&c=&ar=&dvi=&wr=&sp=14&pjl_m=&pjw_m=&pjh_m=&td_m=&i=d&is_m=&sort=%24&sz=15

Short throw and 3000+ lumens as I understand are the two important factors.

I am still very much considering this for my show but am aware that the last three years of rain on Halloween present some challenges for this (waterproof case).

Others may have more meaningful help as I said - haven't done it yet - but checkout projector central to see some other possible options

I have a benq 770 , short throw

http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-W770ST-Short-Theater-Projector/dp/B00COGA6A2/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1420393295&sr=8-5&keywords=benq+projector+short+throw

when i bought it last summer it was $550. Last fall it was on sale someplace for near $500
It is 2500 lumens and has worked very well for me. It projects on my garage door
Dave Pitts also got the same one and he used it in his display this last christmas

This is probably a stupid question, but how would you synchronize your lights with the projector?
Thanks

Go check out FPP on falconchristmas.com forum. Basically one Pi will be used to control lights and another is used to play video. Master and Slave functionality.  Worked quite well this season for me - better than I thought actually Chris did an awesome job with v1 of the FPP this year!
