Questions about FM transmitters

I have the Signstek ST-7C FM Transmitter and it works great. If power gets disconnected, I have to turn it back on and tune the station again.
Questions:
Do you leave it on all the time?
Did you modify it to run cooler if you have one like mine?
Did you get yours to work on a timer and if so, how?

I have the same transmitter and have no problem with it losing it's station memory when disconnected. I do leave it on all the time. I haven't made any cooling modifications. I do not use a timer on it but that shouldn't be a problem.

After you set the frequency, do you press the button three times like the instructions say?
