Xlights not sending data to E682 controller
« on: November 27, 2024, 12:31:15 PM »
I have had this E682 controller for several years but have not been able to get it working with Vixen and Now Xlights.
everything is on the 192.168.1.0/24 network

I connect to the controller web interface, I can run test patterns to the lights.

In XLights, I run my sequence but it will not send to the controller.

I also have several WLED ESP32 Shields in the mix.

Xlights Scanner finds the controller

PC IP same Subnet

Your Megatree settings do not look right to me.

1.  Your E682 claims it is configured for 50 pixels each port, and I think it should be set to 200 each port.

2.  Your Megatree appears to be configured for 16 ports, and it looks like it should only be configured for 4 ports.

3.  Your Start and End Channels do not look right to me.  It has been a while since I used E1.31, but I started each port with IP Address:Universe:ChannelNumber  I included my old megatree settings.  There might be a better way to configure them, but that way worked for me for a few years before I converted to DDP.

I was going to do 1 string per port, but I just figured out that ports 1 & 2 on the E682 are bad so I need to change that

I am not sure how to change those settings, it's tied to the light protocol?

I did a string for each port, but it worked out well for me.  I don't see an issue with using 4 strings, but xLights needs to to match that configuration.

Not sure if the below config will get there.  I never used more than a single universe on the same port.  I would have to manually type them in.  Someone may have a better suggestion.

I am not sure how to match up the two since they use different terminology.
and I can't find the areas in Xlights to make those changes.

I would enter the controller settings in manually back in the day.  xLights supports E1.31 and DDP at the same time, so it might be worth a try.  You will not offend me if you don't want to try.   Not sure I am going to be much more help though... sorry!

I have to give up..
the E682 controller just went south for the winter.
2 yellow lights are only on now, rebooting will not correct it, I can not get to the webpage anymore.

Time to look for a more up to date controllers.

I will try the DDP with my ESP32 Shields, thats all I have available at the moment, and with the holidays
getting something here soon is un likely.

here is what I have to work with.
Shields with ESP32-WROOM-32E controllers 4MB
These are single output controllers.
