Need lighting idea for this year
« on: January 21, 2014, 12:07:47 PM »
I don't put much on my home as I'm in a townhome and we're on small private street.

I do however participate in a local 2 day boat parade and I'm looking for some input. Here's a photo of my 2013 entry that was a Hawaiian theme (high winds did not allow for putting up the LED palm trees).
I ran 4 10watt RGB floods and 4 strings of 5050 RGB modules with about 45 minutes of synchronization with LOR.  The icicle lights were on all the time.

First here's the sketch I showed the wife last summer and she said "Go for it"

My plan right now for 2014 calls for a 360 degree pixel tree at about ~1800 pixels that should look something like this.

The black bimini top is about 10x8 feet and it's a canvas screaming to be lit up.

I'm open to other ideas and suggestions and I'm crazy enough to implement it.

I have one E682 and I'm planning on 1-2 more.    Your thoughts and ideas are welcome.

Maybe convert the boat into a sleigh?...extend a horizontal pole out the front for reindeer?...first thought that popped into my non-technical mind  ;D

Thanks Bob, I've seen quite a few boats do that.

I have this vision of the entire boat changing colors. A chase from off to red to green.  Front to back, back to front, side to side.  I'll keep dreaming and drawing.

That would look fantastic, make sure you have scuba gear on just in case this thing decides to go for a swim.  :P be a shame if it fell over.
