FPP _ Newbee
« on: January 29, 2015, 11:01:11 PM »
Been trying to get up to speed on the FPP.
So I just buy a Rasberry Pi B+
Download the SW from SourceForge.net and away I go.....

Can I please be directed to the best documentation on using it for blinky stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Go to falconcheistmas.com look under pi player. You do not need to go to sourceforge, just download one zip file and unzip it onto your ad card. First follow steps on formatting using sdformatter

you never need to log in to the fpp to have it work. login is
pi/raspberry

if you watch the bootup look for the ip address that is going to be assigned. in my machine it is 10.0.0.4. After it boots, i type 10.0.0.4 into my chrome browser, the fpp web page comes up

We need to add a boot message to tell users to hit the Pi with a web browser.  We also want to add it to the screensaver image as well.

The Pi will announce the IP address out the audio port during boot.  I have a little speaker I got from my son that was a one cubic inch cube and it's perfect for connecting into the Pi for this purpose.
