Problem converting LOR file
« on: February 08, 2015, 01:26:13 PM »
Couldn't find answer to this error. Thanks for any help.
When I try to convert a LOR I get the Error: Unable to determine the length of this LOR sequence (Looked to lenght of track 1).

How many tracks are you running in LOR and do you have copies of channels on those tracks ?

I have 13 tracks in each sequence, each track contains 1 or more channels from the master track.
These are used to group like elements or colors.

That might be an Issue I have yet to be able to convert a sequence in 3.6.15 with tracks that have copies of channels in other tracks. the only way I have  found is to make a new sequence all on 1 track and then copy and past the sequencing to the correct channels then you can convert it . I have 5 tracks but no copies of channels on those tracks. Sorry I could not have been more help

If there is a problem converting the sequence it probably won't be fixed in version 3.6.15 because we are all working on version 4.0.  If you make the file available somewhere we can download I can't promise when but I will try to make sure the new version can convert the file.  Sometimes the developer that creates a conversion routine doesn't know all the variations that may occur with another programs' file format until someone like you provides an example.  I'm also an LOR user and before helping out with xLights I had written a tool that could parse the channel configurations files to renumber the DMX channels in the LOR files so I have some experience parsing their formats.

Unable to determine track length usually is that your lms file is bad. This happens if u use the demo version on lor. Until u pay for it, lor creates binary lms files instead of xml files. View your lms file in an editor and take a look.

Fully licensed copy of LOR.
Does having more than 1 track create problems during convert?

Thanks

When I did all my conversions I had to delete the tracks in Lor before Xlights would accept it. no big  just kept my tracks in my master channel config, delete them before conversion.
