Newbie needs some help with setup in LOR
« on: March 31, 2015, 01:05:27 PM »
Hello,
I'm Jo(e) en lives in Belgium,
So please excuse me for my bad English speaking and writing, but I'll do my very best to make as less mistakes as possible.
For the last 2 years I'm using 5 LOR controllers + 1 CMB24 D + 2 CCR but now I would like to start working with RGB Pixels because the CCR'S from LOR are taking to much money out off my budget for the Christmas decoration.
So I've ordered 2 E682's and after I connected some LEDSTRIPS to the controller I have the following problems:
when I for example put the first Ledstrip completely on in LOR the first Ledstrip together with 7 sets of 3 Leds off the second strip will light up, and also the first part off the Ledstrip that is connected to port 2-1 on the E682
I've posted the setup page off the sandevice and the LOR DMX preference page.
Greetings from Belgium
Jo

Greetings Jo

The LOR forums has a section specifically for E1.31
http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/forum/50-e131-and-lor-s3/

No matter what software you're using, the key is a proper configuration setup.
Each 682 controller should have a different IP address.
Each pixel is addressed by it's ID which is made up of it's universe and channel number.
You first need to configure the E682 controllers properly. You mentioned that you've got pixels plugged into 2-1, and the image shows LPD6803 type lights for that bank. Do you need that to be set to 2811 like bank 1?

Do not ask to know all the answers, but ask to understand the question.

How many pixels do you have physically connected to output 1?  You're E682 setup is configured for 200 pixels since you told it you had 4 strings of 50.  That's why it's ending on Universe 2 channel 90 because it's configured for 200 pixels which is 600 channels minus 510 from universe 1 leaves 90 channels used in universe 2.  Then your output #2 is configured for a different pixel type and you also have it starting in universe 1 channel 90 which overlaps your first output.  Tell us how many pixels you have connected per output and we can guide you on the settings.
