so, ive already installed the PPA,
i just neeed to download the source files from the github and run the compliler?

from what i understand there 2 ways the compiler can be ran. regular (for newbies like me) and developer for those making changes. is that correct?

are you familiar with the AppImage files - if so how are they used?

do you think that it must be compiled in linux for the linix distro to work properly, or can it be done in say windows or chromeos.
i have ubuntu one of my chromebooks

Is there a detailed install guide to install XLIGHTS on ubuntu anywhere?
I have the PPA Repository installed and updated.

is compiling the only way to get xlights working on ubuntu?

Ability to show current Time and current Weather either in TEXT or separate effect.

suggestions
current time can be polled from current pc or nist.time.gov
current weather can be polled from wunderground.com using api key

while most users of xlights know that there is no real need to resize images any longer.
the intuitive software, can scale the largest images down to fit your matrix. even video.

but still, i get asked all the time how to resize images (even animated ones)
you can go here. i guess for users that haven't made the switch to xlights yet (but why would they be here then? - lol)

there are several options you can customize, from size, detail, etc

but be aware that xlights can do all the resizing for your display in a SUPER easy to use interface. there is no need to resize your images before using them in xlights.

error is page not found

the issue was NOT caused by xlights

you forget, i love xlights/nutcracker

the issue was was all me. i messed up
you pointed me in the right direction

of course it could be.

that is why i sent the screen shot

using standard RGB pixels they should be 3 channels per pixel
at 120 pixels, there should be 360 channels

THE ERROR OCCURRED WITH THE LATEST UPDATE (version .23 64 bit)
the only way to get the channel count correct is to change the STRING count to match the LIGHTS/STRING

it appears that counter is pulling from parameter 1 without multiplying parameter 2 (or so it seems)

other links after 2017.10 work correctly
