I know this an old post..  But by any chance does anyone have the gif's for the Star Wars one?  I can't seem to find them.  Unless I am not looking in the right spot.

Thanks!

My Show Setup / Re: Late start setting up
« on: December 14, 2017, 08:34:37 AM »
My newest daughter was born in November, I had surgery shortly after, My dad and 2 brothers came to visit...

so after all that I am getting a little late start setting up all the hardware for my first Christmas show. The one thing that is hindering my progress right now is how to mount a CG1500 case to my mega-tree. I am in north west ohio where we can get some snow so I can't leave it on the ground other wise the little foam lined holes at the bottom will let snow in and short out the controller (or so I fear). If anyone has any good ideas or can show a photo or good description for how to safely secure the controller box would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

I have left my CG-1500 cases on the ground for years.  Never an issue to be honest.  Had bugs one year but that was because it was so warm.  I'm in Western NY so I understand where you are coming from.

Well folks I saw this in person.  In action.  W.O.W.  Just wow!  Pictures and video are one thing.  In person is just amazing.  I bow down and am not worthy!  Talent right here!

You don't need excel. You can put an image under the grid in xlights and use the auto numbering.
I remember seeing something about that. Hmmmm I'll have to figure that out. The pic isn't the best quality.

What about the build a model thing with video?  I have never tried it.

I wish I had video of it now.

Well he now has watermarks on his images.  So something is up.  I just made a very crude version for now.  Looks like crap but works.

Poor way to do business though.

Try taking a picture and overlay it in excel on a grid. then export it into xlights. this is how I have done my custom models, you can change the grid layout to fit the nodes.  My Bruno the brown nose raindeer with 149 nodes could have been a nightmare going free hand.
Thanks for your info.  I'll give it a shot.

To be clear you are asking for a model for Rudolf right?  If not for the title the contents make it sound like you are looking for HC Pumpkin and Monsters.  I heard he insisted we not provide users models for his stuff.  So I said fine we'll post the Boscoyo stuff and that's what the majority will buy.

Correct.  I was mentioning the HC Pumpkins / Monsters as a reference.  Those I have already.  I was hoping to save time by importing.  And I am sure mine won't look as good. :)

I have done a search but can't find it so either I'm not doing the search correctly or there is not one.

I was wondering if anyone has done a model to be imported into xLights like for the HC Pumpkin and Monsters.  Obviously I can do it but would make life easier to import one already done.

Thanks in advance.

The controller I gave you was setup outside last year. Building a special enclosure is key but to invest that kinda time and money its scary to toss it out in the weather.  With the receiver boards at only 17 each to lose one not as bad.  I have a few more weeks of building my roof outline. I think I'll have a few roll of lights left over. If I do I'll send them your way.

Haha yeah...  I hear you there.  I made my own cases for the first year and I have a few CG-1500 cases here and there too.  I wish I could put everything inside.  Would make me feel better but so far I've had no issues.  So far.

Well thank you for the offer.  I am still trying to come up with a display.  Just can't decide on things.  I should probably scrap the idea altogether this year. :(

Nice!  Wish I could do that but as you have seen my yards I have to work with it's just not possible.  Long runs of wire be needed.  I envy those of you who can put their electronics in their garages or even basements to help protect them.
