Yes, control from the Ipad.

What I'm asking about is the functionality described at 1:14:00

will that be included with an upcoming version of FPP?

Hi Sean,

During the tutorial you briefly spoke about IPad control of the FPP, and some additional functionality such as adding instant sequences on the fly.

Is that functionality available yet?  Were you speaking of an app that can be downloaded now?

Thanks
Dave

xLights Convert / Re: conversion: 16x50 to 32x100
« on: March 08, 2016, 03:53:37 PM »
should have included more info.....
I've got a purchased sequence from Holiday Sequences that were delivered as both a .sup and .lms files.  The sequence is for a 16x50 tree and I'd like to upscale it to my 32x100 tree.

I read through Jim's instructions, but those deal with .xml files.  Which I don't have.  So not sure those are helping me at this point.

Are there instructions for bringing in the .sup file and applying it to my pixel tree?

Thanks
dave

xLights Convert / conversion: 16x50 to 32x100

Is there a conversion tool that will scale a sequence from 12x50 up to 32x100?
Looks like it could be handled by mapping, but looking or an easier way to upscale.

Thanks

The Water Cooler / Artwork for singing faces for matrix

Is there a good source for phonemes(sp?) for animated faces for a matrix?  First year with a pixel tree and I'd love to put a singing face on it.

Thanks

Xlights Setup / Render hang
« on: August 16, 2015, 11:40:38 AM »

Hi guys,
Running into a problem with a buddy of mine....  XL4 is hanging when we try to render or save, XL hangs.  We need to crash XL4 at that point to recover.

Setup:
Laptop A:  running XL4.2.1
Laptop B:  running XL4.2.1
San Device 6804 - port 4 output DMX universe 13 to LOR CTB16

We're starting our models at Universe 13, channel 33 and then go from there on up.  We do this because we've got some legacy stuff that take up the lower universes and channels.

With laptop A all the hardware is working with testing and sequences.  With all legacy channels and hardware attached, everything works fine.  Can create or edit new sequences, render and save.

The problem comes when we try to create a new sequence starting on Laptop B.  On this laptop, we're starting at Universe 13, channel 33.  Setup is fine - channel testing works fine.  Model creation is identical to Laptop A.

Sequence creation works fine, but the system hangs indefinitely when we try to render or save.  Also, we can't open any working sequence from Laptop A to Laptop B, although I suspect this is a difference in models and layout issue.  It looks like its opening, but no data is present.

In thinking that maybe Laptop B was the issue, we re-created the same problems on a desktop computer with a fresh install of XL4.2.1.  We have the same hang when we try to create and save a sequence which starts at Universe  13.  Haven't tried the full model layout on the desktop yet.

Any ideas on what could cause XL to hang when the only real difference we can see is the start at Univers 13?

Logan:
What's the path for the plugins folder - What comes BEFORE the colon?

"Just get those plugins and then  stick them here    :/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Vamp"

Does the new plugins folder need to be inside the xLights folder?  Or just off the C drive?

Thanks

I found a tutorial (but need to find the link again) where the effect I wanted was described.  In xLights, this dude used the single strand effect and added skips instead of chase along his roofline.

I'm going to play with it this afternoon.  I'd like to get my lights to skip to the beat of the music.

Nutcracker Effects / xLights 4 effect similar to Vixen "Alternating"
« on: July 23, 2015, 04:59:23 PM »

Is there an effect similar to Vixen's "Alternating"?  Is there one planned?

I'd love to alternate to the beat of the music.  but it looks like I'll have to re-learn Vixen of brute force it in LOR SS or SE.

Nutcracker Models / Basic questions on new models
« on: July 22, 2015, 10:15:05 AM »
Hi  Guys,
This one is pretty basic....  Just beginning to play with XL4.
The models I created in XL3 were opened with no problem.  And my layout from XL3 looks good.  However, when I create a new model and give it a name, the new model does not appear in my Preview Models list on the layout tab.  I can see the new model when I click the Models button, and can edit it with no problems.  also, I made sure that the "Part of my display" box is checked.  Am I missing a step?

Second question:  In the custom models dialog, how is the "From Output" box used?  Do I enter my Universe number here?

Thanks

Vixen3 / Re: No support now. But maybe soon we hope.
« on: February 27, 2015, 06:19:27 AM »

dpitts:  Thanks.  I'm still new to both Lights and Vixen, so I didn't understand why the first entry in this thread said that there is no support.  Seemed pretty easy to me.  Makes sense now.

Sean:  Yes, I have been paying attention for the last couple months.  Really looking forward to the new release and I understand that xseq is going away.  Just fooling around while I wait for the new releases.  I appreciate the tip!
