Nutcracker Models / Create Hotkey for Toggle Models
« on: January 01, 2020, 12:45:29 PM »
Is there a way to create a hot key to perform the same action as a "Right Click -> Toggle Models"

Create a new sequence. Same audio. Import effects from current sequence with errors. Auto map.

You may need to manually map nodes and strands.

This will strip out the overlaps.

Thanks.  That brings the effects back in and left maybe 50 errors.  Before this I created a new sequence and imported the .lms as a data layer and then imported the pixel data from the previous sequence.  Both work but your way is faster for sure.

Thanks.  It's been saved many times.  It works, it's just slow to save and render which makes sense now.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Sequence check - overlaps with effect on
« on: December 13, 2019, 10:10:39 AM »
I did a sequence check and I have 264K errors like the line below.  It's a sequence I imported somehow from LOR years back.  When looking at it I have effects instead of a data layer and like 3 on effects stacked on top of each other.  Any ideas what I did and how I can correct it?

ERR: Effect On (1:15.500-1:15.700) overlaps with Effect On (1:15.500-1:15.700) on Model 'Garage Peek Left' layer 1. This shouldn't be possible.

General Software / AC lights and select mode
« on: January 26, 2019, 03:51:06 PM »
Been out of this a couple years and playing with the AC lights feature and I'm curious how it should work.  When sequencing RGB effects it seems like you are always in select mode so you select a section and hit a key for and effect and repeat.

When I turn on the AC lights toolbar it seems to stick on the last effect used.  So if you select some cells and hit D for example you get a ramp down.  Then if you select more cells it continues with the last effect until you click select to turn off the last effect.

Is this correct and I just don't get how it should works?

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Unwanted data?
« on: October 28, 2016, 08:17:36 PM »
Thanks.  I used the Tools Check Sequence and found an issue that corrected it.  I closed the check file now though and lost the exact error so it doesn't help much.  I had a single channel custom model that had 11 instead of 1 for all the dots.  I had seven of these models and unfortunately I don't know which was the issue but after I corrected them the data is gone.  I didn't see it showing as a duplicate channel in the layout but I'm guessing it was.

See attached.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Unwanted data? - Solved
« on: October 28, 2016, 07:55:43 PM »
I have a new sequence that I'm working on and I'm getting unwanted data that I can't explain on some AC channels.  I have searched the xml and I don't see any data that matches the effects.  I have tried everything I can think of and it won't go away.

Please see attached image.  The fades that are circled are one of six channels(data) that I have no idea where the data is coming from.

Thanks for the help.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Resting the master view
« on: October 25, 2016, 11:01:18 AM »
I'm a little confused on the master view.  I have been editing the items in the master view and the more I play with it I think this may be a no no.

The question I have is:

Can you or should you ever edit the master view?

Can you reset the master view to contain all the elements back to the way it should be?  In xLights or editing xml directly?

Thanks

I didn't try to create any new models.  I noticed it when I upgraded and opened up xLights and viewed the layout.

I'm seeing something different with single line models between 2016.13 and 2016.16. Not sure which version it switched in.  See attached before and after.  The models shown are 7 single line models with 8 lights per string.

Is there something I need adjust after?

What new effects you would like to see / Re: new features for v5?
« on: March 12, 2016, 07:43:45 AM »
I can't say exactly what AussiePhil, GadgetSmith, Jeffl, etc. prefer about Gradients and Dimming Curves.  There may be other aspects they are looking for.

I'm just watching and still trying to get my display down so I can start sequencing.  If I comment I will get "No xLights for you!" Two years! :)

I'm too far in to start over now. :)

Latest xLights/Nutcracker software / Re: xLights 2016.9 , Big Release!

Can I just do a search and replace in the xml on my files if I want to get my old settings back?

Not really a feature but it would be nice to have the sequence name in the top left of the window next to the version.  It's a standard spot where most programs display the file that's open.  I know it's down in the bottom but I find it hard to locate there.  So it would be a feature for those of us that are hard to retrain. :)

An example would be like this.

xLights BETA (Ver 2016.10) Mar 3 2016 - [OpenSequenceName.fseq]
