yours converted in less than one second, no issues.

you may have missed the discussion 6 months ago, xlights 4.0 does not use xseq files, we use fseq.
we kept xseq files for compatability.

Further, CONVERT will change your vixen file into a binary rendered fseq. thsi means if you ever need to modify it , you go back to vixen.

Well I think we do confuse people because if I remember correctly the convert dialog still lists XSEQ as Xlights sequences and FSEQ as Falcon Pi Player files.  We really don't want people selecting the XSEQ option anymore.  Is there a reason to leave that option in there now as a target format?

I had kind of left it in because at the time I didn't know if all the updates to the sequencer (OpenGl, etc...) would require us dropping support of the ancient versions of Windows that some folks use to run their shows.   Being able to convert to a format that xLights 3 could play for running shows was something I thought would be a "safe" thing.

Well, it did. It took 30 seconds to read, 9 minutes for the write. This is 31000 channels.
Not sure what you converted. The sequence I posted is 264 channels. Are you talking about something else here?
Sorry, I didn't notice that you posted something. I converted something I had.

Yours converted in about 3 seconds, no issues.

What version are you using?
Vixen is 2.1 xlights /nutcracker is the latest version.

Sean and I both converted your file fine. Where are the files you want converted located, are they in the sequence folder?

They are in my vixen sequence folder. I am running my show in xlights this year unless I get the Raspberry PI to work for me. So far not getting anywhere with that.

It sounds like everyone else was able to convert it.  Couldn't one of you just give the converted file back? :)

I was going to suggest using a data layer, seems like a better option.

I believe I can use the fseq now. I rewrote the sequence in visxen using copy and past and it converted with a new profile. I can not understand why you guys can do it and can not. I was able to get the pi to boot up and connect to the IP address by hard wiring it from the pi to the wifi extender I have. I can always just run a cat 65 out to the pi outside and get things going in a pinch. I am not real savvy on networking and how to set up another wireless router to run the show that way. I know some of  you know this stuff like the back of your hand but when it comes to this stuff I am a little challenged. Now to figure out how to set up the show and get it running, play lists schedule etc. I am working on it however. Not sure how to set up transmitter. I have an FM02. I only see the 212 in the drop down box.
Thanks for the input.

Update
I kept messing with my PI and now have it working wireless. I can take it across the street and power up and get the FPP web page.  Now I just have to figure out how to get the sequences and scheduler done. I am as I said watching the videos from Expo so I should get it done. I will also watch Seans videos on xlights
he did at Expo and see where it goes. I still have to connect a renard controller and get it working with the PI. I think I can get it all done before Thanksgiving and get two shows put together.

Hi,

Have been through all of that quite recently.

Do one step at a time.

Post your questions here and I can respond quite quickly (I struggle to find stuff in fb)- am sure others will respond as well.

Is your first qn - how do you get your sequences to the PI ?

If so , use the file manager , browse to your xl show directory and upload the Yoursequence.fseq and the mp3 . (the xml is not required)

Then on the content tab , create a playlist and add the fseq (and the mp3) as the first item,

(Optionally )Test using the Display testing tab , that the fseq runs ,

Then test running the playlist from the status page.

Add another fseq/mp3 to the playlist etc

Note: Connect your PC/laptop to the Ethernet port of the PI via a switch/router (I did not try without that) if possible to upload your sequences as it would be faster.
