HELP!! Desperate for a Plan B

Folks, I need a Plan B here.

I had many issues running LOR stuff from my PixLite 16 controllers. Well, discovered it was ALL the DMX512 ports not working!

So, now I need an alternative to run my CCR's(3), 8RGB floods with CMB24D, and (2) LOR PC16 controllers.

Since I have everything setup to run my LOR in DMX, do I have to change anything in the setup tab in XL/NC?

How will I connect my LOR USB 485 dongle to control the lights in XL/NC?

If I set it up as a LOR then don't I only have 96 channels? The CCR's are 450 channels. This is why I chose to go DMX mode.

Right now I have on Universe 1 510 channels set for the LOR stuff, with appropriate DMX Starting addresses.

Universe 2 is for running my CCR's .

I have a FPP, understand it will do LOR now, would I just insert the LOR 485 into the FPP, then use the other screen in FPP to select the universe for the LOR stuff? Could it be that easy?  Nothing has been easy so far, so I doubt it.

Bottom line, I need some step by step assistance if possible. Many Thanks.

You sure there isn't something you can fix on the Pixlite16 setup to get the DMX ports working?  They should be able to work....have you talked with the Advatek guys they are usually really helpful.  The auschristmaslighting forum is the place they hang out or email them directly.

I'm running 7 pixlites and using the 485 ports. Are you using a crossover cable on the ones going to your LOR boxes? Have you used the hardwired channels built into the LOR boxes? http://www1.lightorama.com/Documents/DMX-DOC.pdf

In the other thread you said the CCR was working fine from the LOR hardware utility so doesn't that mean the serial ports on the Pixlite are working?

Hi Gil, yes the CCR's are working fine on the 485 LOR. When I plug them into the ports on the PixLite, that is when things happen as I posted.  Yes, they may be getting some sort of data stream, but not good.

All 4 ports on my other PL16 work just fine. Using them to control the CCB's   I think I have a Plan B now, so it's gonna eventually work out.  Gotta fly a 3 day, so no more time for troubleshooting. 

Colonel, Yes the LOR DMX stuff has been followed to run the controllers in DMX mode. Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
